Trusting the Character behind the Promise

KEY TEXT: Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do?” (NKJV)

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT:

Every promise rests upon the character of the one who made it. Human beings sometimes fail to keep their word because of weakness, forgetfulness, or lack of ability. God suffers from none of these limitations.

When faith becomes weak, it is often because people focus more on the challenge than on God's nature. Numbers 23:19 reminds us that God is fundamentally different from man. He is absolutely dependable.

Faith grows when believers understand who God is. The more you know His faithfulness, power, wisdom, and love, the easier it becomes to trust Him. Faith is strengthened by revelation of God's character.

The enemy constantly attacks confidence in God's goodness because he knows that trust is the foundation of faith. Guard your heart against every suggestion that questions God's integrity.

APPLICATION:

• Study God's character through Scripture.

• Remember past testimonies of God's faithfulness.

• Refuse to entertain thoughts that question God's goodness.

• Build your faith on God's nature rather than your feelings.

• Trust that God will fulfill every promise He has spoken.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, reveal Yourself to me more deeply.

2. Lord, strengthen my confidence in Your faithfulness.

3. Help me trust You completely in every season.

ACTION POINT: Write down five ways God has been faithful to you in the past and thank Him for each one.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalms 47-48, Mark 14
