Faith Is What You Do, Not What You Say

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:24  “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (NKJV)

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT:

Jesus emphasized that wisdom is demonstrated through obedience. The wise builder was not merely the one who heard His words but the one who practiced them.

Many believers know what God has said but fail to act accordingly. Faith is not proven by knowledge alone. It is revealed through consistent obedience.

The difference between success and failure often lies in application. Both builders heard the same words, but only one acted upon them. When storms came, the house built on obedience stood firm.

Effectual faith moves beyond discussion and enters practical living. It transforms convictions into actions and beliefs into results.

The strongest evidence of faith is not what you profess but how you live.

APPLICATION:

• Practice the truths you learn from Scripture.

• Evaluate your life regularly for areas of disobedience.

• Allow God's Word to shape your daily choices.

• Understand that obedience strengthens faith.

• Become a doer of the Word and not merely a hearer.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, help me become a doer of Your Word.
 2. Lord, remove every tendency toward spiritual complacency.
 3. Give me grace to obey consistently.

ACTION POINT: Choose one biblical principle you have learned recently and intentionally practice it throughout today.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalms 61-62, John 5
