LIVING ABOVE WORRY AND LACK

KEY TEXT: Matthew 6:31–33 “Therefore take no thought,  saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we  drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT

Worry is one of the greatest enemies of faith. It keeps people focused on what they lack rather than on the God who supplies every need. Jesus instructed His followers not to be anxious about food, clothing, or tomorrow because the heavenly Father already knows what they need.

Worry never solves problems; it only drains strength and steals peace. Faith, however, places confidence in God's character. When you know that your Father loves you and cares for you, anxiety loses its grip.

Jesus gave the key to victorious living: "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness." When God becomes your highest priority, you can trust Him to take care of every other concern.

Living above worry does not mean ignoring responsibility. It means fulfilling your responsibilities while leaving the outcome in God's hands. Peace comes from trusting God's faithfulness, not from controlling every circumstance.

 APPLICATION

  • Replace worry with prayer.
  • Trust God's timing.
  • Focus on God's Kingdom.
  • Be thankful in every season.
  • Rest in God's promises.

 PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, deliver me from every spirit of worry and anxiety.

2. Lord, fill my heart with perfect peace as I trust in You.

3. Father, help me to seek Your Kingdom above everything else.

ACTION POINT: Whenever anxious thoughts arise today, replace them immediately with thanksgiving and Scripture.
