PROVISION IS YOUR COVENANT RIGHT

KEY TEXT: Deuteronomy 8:18 “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT

God's covenant is not limited to spiritual blessings alone; it also includes His commitment to sustain, preserve, and prosper His people according to His will. Moses reminded the children of Israel that it is God who gives the power to get wealth, not merely to enrich individuals, but to establish His covenant upon the earth.

This truth protects believers from two extremes. On one hand, it keeps us from trusting in our own strength and abilities. On the other hand, it delivers us from the mentality of lack and helplessness. Whatever ability you possess, every opportunity you enjoy, and every door that opens before you is ultimately an expression of God's grace.

God often provides through the work of your hands. Therefore, faith is never an excuse for laziness. The believer must be diligent, skillful, faithful, and responsible while depending upon God's supernatural favour.

The covenant assures us that as we walk with God in obedience and faithfulness, He is able to bless the works of our hands, multiply our efforts, and cause us to become channels of blessing to others.

Never despise small beginnings. God often begins with little before multiplying it into abundance. Stay faithful, remain grateful, and trust His process.
