NAVIGATING DANGEROUS WATERS

KEY TEXT: Psalm 107:23–24

(KJV) “They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.”

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT

Life is a journey through different waters. Some seasons are calm, while others are turbulent. There are moments when everything seems predictable, and there are moments when circumstances suddenly change and you find yourself facing challenges you never anticipated.

The presence of dangerous waters does not mean you are outside God's will. Sometimes, the greatest demonstrations of God's power are experienced in the deep.

The Bible says those who go down to the sea and do business in great waters see the works of the Lord and His wonders in the deep. There are dimensions of God's faithfulness that you may never discover until you face situations that require you to trust Him beyond your natural ability.

Jesus did not promise His followers a life without storms. Rather, He promised to be with them. The disciples entered a storm while obeying Jesus' instruction to cross to the other side. Their storm did not mean they had missed God.

You may be navigating financial pressure, career uncertainty, relationship challenges, ministry responsibilities, disappointment, or an unfamiliar season. Do not conclude that God has abandoned you simply because the waters are rough.

God can use difficult seasons to develop your faith, strengthen your character, deepen your dependence on Him, and prepare you for another level.

You may be in dangerous waters, but you are not without a Captain. Trust God. Keep moving. There is a destination beyond the storm.

APPLICATION

• Refuse to interpret every difficulty as God's absence.
• Build your confidence in God's presence, not in circumstances.
• Learn what God is teaching you in your current season.
• Keep moving toward God's purpose even when the waters become difficult.
• Remember that storms are temporary, but God's purpose is enduring.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, thank You because You are with me in every season of my life.

2. Lord, give me wisdom and strength to navigate every difficult season successfully.

3. Father. I receive grace to remain faithful until I arrive at the place You have prepared for me. 

ACTION POINT: Write down one difficult situation you are facing and beside it write: “God is with me here, and I will come through.”
