NOT ALL MEN CARRY THE SAME SIGNIFICANCE

KEY TEXT: 2 Samuel 18:3 (NLT) — “But the men objected strongly. ‘You must not go,’ they urged. ‘If we have to turn and run—and even if half of us die—it will make no difference to
Absalom’s troop; they will be looking only for you. You are worth 10,000 of us, and it is better that you stay here in the town and send help if we need it.’”

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT:

In this life, not everybody is living intentionally, and not everybody is living consequentially. All men do not carry the same presence, and all men do not carry the same significance. You can see a group picture of twelve persons in a newspaper, and they will mention three names and add "and others." It means those three names carry consequence.

When David wanted to go to battle, his men strongly objected because his single life was equivalent to ten thousand soldiers. If regular soldiers fell, Israel remained intact; but if David fell, the light of the nation was extinguished.

There are people in families, organizations, and churches whose presence changes everything. When they leave a place, a deep vacuum is felt. Make up your mind today that you will not pass through this world as a spectator. Refuse to be an "also-ran" who merely ran with the crowd without leaving a lasting mark.

Refuse the "also-ran" mentality of merely existing or following the crowd.

PRAYER POINTS:

Father, deliver me from an empty, inconsequential existence.
Lord, make my life carry divine weight, presence, and lasting Kingdom significance.
Grant me grace to leave a destiny footprint that brings glory to Your name.
