UNCOVERING THE SHINING LIGHT

KEY TEXT: Matthew 5:14–15 (NLT) — “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand where it gives light to everyone in the house.”

BACKGROUND AND THOUGHTS ON THE TEXT:

God never lights a candle to hide it under a basket. When God imparts His life, grace, and wisdom into you, He places you on a stand so that your light gives direction and illumination to everyone around you.

Light inherently dispels darkness and brings clarity. You cannot be hidden if you are genuinely shining, but the vital question is: as you become visible, are you bringing glory or shame to God? A covered light is a contradiction of divine purpose.

This season calls for fanaticism in practical goodness and Kingdom excellence. Do not hide your faith, your competence, or your compassion. Allow the light of Christ in you to illuminate your workplace, home, and city through intentional acts of righteousness and service.

APPLICATION:

  1. Step out boldly to solve problems in your environment using God's wisdom.
  2. Remove every basket of fear, timidity, and compromise covering your testimony.
  3. Be intentional about demonstrating Christ's love through practical, visible good works.

PRAYER POINTS:

1.  Father, remove every evil basket of fear and obscurity covering my light.

2.  Lord, elevate me to the stand of influence so that Your glory may shine through me.

3.  Let my life bring continuous honor and praise to Your name in my community.

ACTION POINT: Engage in an intentional act of kindness or service today to illuminate someone else's darkness.
