WIELDING THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

KEY TEXT: Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV) "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

In the offensive armor of the believer, the primary offensive weapon provided for spiritual warfare is "the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." The Greek word used here for Word is rhema, referring to the specific, spoken word of God spoken directly into a situation.

When facing spiritual resistance, general knowledge of Scripture is insufficient; you must speak specific Scriptures into targeted challenges. When Jesus was confronted by Satan in the wilderness, He repeatedly struck back by declaring, "It is written!"

The spiritual realm is sensitive to the Word of God spoken in faith. When God's Word comes out of your mouth backed by spiritual conviction, it carries the same creative and destructive power as when God speaks it Himself.

Refuse to remain silent in the face of spiritual opposition. Fill your heart with Scripture, draw the Sword of the Spirit, and speak God's decrees directly against every mountain before you.
